This apartment is the perfect location to walk to restaurants in downtown Spearfish. Parking was right in front, quiet location & clean apartment. Tracy was very responsive to any questions. Would stay there again when visiting the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Wish the bed was bigger to small for two adults. Wish the bedroom was darker to many lights from the store next door coming into the bedroom.
The shower was adequate, with sufficient water pressure and temperature, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. Check-in was smooth and straightforward. However, there was a noticeable cigarette smoke odor in the unit, which was a bit off-putting, and the kitchen, while clean, could benefit from a more thorough cleaning to feel truly spotless. Additionally, the rugs appeared worn and felt unclean when walking on them, which affected the overall comfort. The place met our basic needs for sleeping and showering during our stay, but it would be helpful if the listing mentioned the cigarette odor, as it was more prominent than expected. The condition of the rugs also detracted from the experience. Compared to the other nine locations we stayed at during our trip, this one was among the pricier options, and the odor and rug condition made it less ideal. With some attention to the odor, rug maintenance, and kitchen cleanliness, this could be a great stay.

Great place for 2 adults and an infant. Perfect being able to walk downtown or coffee shops. Very clean & felt safe. Would stay again!

Refundable Bookings
Cancellation deadlines:
- For stays under 15 nights, you may cancel or reschedule up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund. For stays 15 nights or longer, the cancellation window is 60 days.
- For some homes, a 30-day deadline applies — this will be clearly shown before you book.
- Cancellations must be submitted before 4 PM EST on the deadline day to qualify.
Fair-Refund Policy
If you cancel after the deadline:
- Trailhound Cabin Co will relist your dates and automatically refund you for any nights that rebook.
- The refund per night will be the lower of the original price or the rebooking rate. Nights that do not rebook are non-refundable.
Half-Now, Half-Later Bookings
- The first half of your payment is non-refundable.
- The second half may be refunded according to the standard cancellation policy above.
Non-Refundable Bookings
If you selected a Non-Refundable rate at checkout, the booking cannot be changed or canceled, and no refund will be issued.
Date Changes & Rebooking
Once a stay is canceled, you can't rebook the same dates yourself. If you need help choosing new dates, our Concierge team is happy to assist.
Transfers to Another Guest
You may transfer your booking to someone else at no charge. Just contact the Concierge with the new guest's name and email. The new guest must accept the transfer for it to take effect.
Policy Match Guarantee
